In Lincoln, Nebraska, Cheyenne County District Judge Kristine Cecava in a ruling on May 30, 2006 stated that sexual predator Richard W. Thompson, (who had repeatedly molested a 12 year-old girl over a period of two months), deserved a long prison sentence, he was too short to survive in state prison. So she preceded to award him a 10-year probationary sentence! Her line of reasoning was: since Richard W. Thompson, 51 years-old and is only five feet one-- that he would not survive in prison. Now wouldn’t that just break your heart?
His attorney had plea bargained his case down from seven counts to two felony counts. It is my opinion this judge should be impeached for this idiotic ruling! Who is going to protect our children from sexual predators if judges hand down this kind of lenient sentence?
The people of Nebraska are up-in-arms over this stupid ruling! The Attorney General of Nebraska, Jon Bruning, stated on the O’Reilly show May 31, 2006 that there are plenty of short inmates in Nebraska’s prison system, and he is appealing the ruling of Judge Kristine Cecava.
I have spoken with Mary Nelson, Communications Director, Nebraska Attorney General’s Office on two occasions in the last 24 hours, and found her to be most helpful, however, because of the appeal in the case she could not divulge prior convictions of pervert Richard W. Thompson.
I also spoke with Lieutenant Keith Andrew, with the Sidney, Nebraska Police Department and found him to be most gracious, however, he was faced with the same situation as Mary Nelson, because of the appeal.
My fellow Americans, we cannot tolerate this kind of crime in the United States! Until judges learn that we need to put these heathen perverts in prison, and throw away the key, I fear no let up in the assault of our young children, the most precious resource America has! Until we come down hard on sexual predators and especially child molesters, this problem will only continue to get worse. Presently there are 500,000 registered sexual predators in the United States. At the same time I say this, I must tell you that law enforcement does not know where 150,000 of them are! We need to give law enforcement the tools to work with, so they can carry out their duty. Most law enforcement people I’ve met care deeply about this barbaric problem.
Too short for prison! Has this Judge lost her mind? Is this just an added incentive and an invitation to short people in Nebraska to commit similar crimes? I wonder what kind of sentence she would have handed down, if this had been her daughter or granddaughter?
Nebraska has passed Jessica’s Law, however it doesn’t go into effect until July 14, 2006! What a shame! This pervert could have gotten a mandatory 25 year sentence!
I have no compassion for any person, young or old, short or tall who molest our children! Most sexual predators have offended at least 80 times before being caught! This is mind boggling! I say throw this pervert in prison along with the Judge and see how they both fare! What do you think about that? If you think this is too strong-what would you do? What if this was your child or grandchild?
People who act like barbarians, should be treated like barbarians! It’s way past time to make some noise, by contacting your elected representatives, and let them know how you feel about this kind of thing happening in your area!
No one is too short for prison!
I salute the team who held the laser beam on Zarqawi’s hide-out, and the two F-16 Pilots who hit the house with two 500 pound bombs! The world is far better off without Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, running to and fro leading his band of thugs, who enjoy beheading Americans, killing innocent Iraqi’s and U.S. Troops!
I’m sure Zarqawi found immediately upon entering Hell, there were not 72 Virgins awaiting him! It is my opinion there is not a single virgin there-- much less 72! Did Zarqawi and bin Laden really believe this fairy tale or just use it to dupe young men to carry out suicide missions thinking there would be 72 Virgins waiting for them in paradise only to find them selves in Hell! What do you think? Zarqawi’s death is welcomed news to all patriotic Americans. However, we are seeing some of the left-winged liberals trying to put a left-winged spin on this great mission carried out by our Military! The very wise leadership of the Democratic Party had nothing good to say, well what would you expect from the party of gloom and doom? Not much right? And what are doing besides complaining. . . (afraid the Bush Administration is going to look heroic) to help out with the mission in Iraq?
Zarqawi boasted on his website of beheading innocent victims, including the murders of more than 1,000 British and American soldiers, in Iraq over the past two years. Zarqawi also led terrorists that killed thousands of Iraqis through relentless suicide bombings and organized attacks. Many of the bombings were directed at large crowds of Shiites under a strategy U.S. and Iraqi officials said was designed to trigger a civil war.
General Sir Timothy Granville-Chapman- Britain’s vice chief of the defense staff, had told senior officers in Baghdad, that "removing this terrorist will be a massive blow against al-Qaida." I also believe this was a mighty blow for the forces of Good over the forces of Evil!
The information found at the location led to 17 simultaneous raids later that night in Baghdad, and its outskirts that uncovered a "treasure trove" of information, which has now led to 36 more successful raids against the followers of Zarqawi! This will not end the attacks by the terrorists, but it dealt them a very deadly blow! I say "God Bless Our Troops!" May we soon destroy every terrorist training facility in this world! In my opinion this great accomplishment will (eventually) help the United States, the men and women all over the world to live in peace!
The sick left-winged liberals are putting the following spin on Zarqawi’s death: "how do you know he was guilty of masterminding suicide bombings and the beheadings of innocent civilians?" Daily Kos user "Johann" wanted to know, if the (liberals) were privy to information the rest of us them didn’t have access to?
Others insisted Zarqawi isn’t really dead (a typical reaction from a diehard liberal), but is instead part of a conspiracy to deceive the American public. "Personally, I think they’ve got him in a cell somewhere, and they trot him out, whenever the political situation seems dire and let him make a speech," said a user named "Pragmatic Left." The liberal member "iconoclast022" echoed this sentiment. "It seems that Osama and George are just playing their role for the family in each one’s bid for empire and power. I’d be willing to bet, that this plan has been in the works for a very long time. I bet they see themselves as overlords or something." Well with this type of fabricated ideology on the left-winged liberal side, who in their right mind would buy what they said?
I’m thrilled at this victory! Our military has proved they can get the job done! We need to support them, (and the president when he is right). When he is wrong we need to put the heat on him! I’m thrilled that Zarqawi is dead! Hope you are as well! If not, maybe you are living in the wrong country. You should really consider leaving. And don’t let the door hit you in your backside on the way out!
